My Melanin Pops
Over the last few years I've become obsessed with my skincare routine. Fortunately for me I've been blessed with not so problematic skin. Still, I'm aging like we all are but I want to make sure that I don't look my age. I use several products on my face and decollete depending on the season and time of day.
I can't emphasize enough how essential water is for overall health. Not only does it benefit my skin but my digestive system and personal scent have also benefited. I do drink pH balanced water more so than spring or plain purified water. I also have a Brita pitcher so I always have water! #thankful
The one skin problem I have is extreme combination skin. In the winter, I'm really dry and in the summer very oily thus the reason for all of the different products. I use Jamaican Black Castor Oil or a Shea Butter Mixture to moisturize in the Winter at night. I know they are thick and heavy but they just work for me without clogging my pores. In the daytime, year round, I use the Cetaphil primarily because it's lightweight and it has SPF 30.
To cleanse, a facial brush is an absolute necessity! Specifically the one picture because I love the fact that it is two-sided. I also use a few different cleansers...I use the Neutrogena at night and the Black Soap when I shower in the morning. My newest love is the citrus witch hazel that I use at night after cleansing with the Neutrogena. For my body I use Bliss body scrub (once weekly), Argan Magic bodywash, and body gloves.
On a less frequent basis, I use the Philosophy Micro Delivery and the Indian Healing Clay when my skin needs a little extra TLC. Both of them brighten my complexion and soften my skin tremendously.
Whether or not you decide to try any of the products discussed here self-care is uber important! Make sure that you allotting time to take care of you. Also, find items that work for you! You may have to use several products like me to achieve desired outcomes.
I recommend purchasing most of these items from Amazon because it's less expensive than Sephora or local BSS's. You can find some of the products discussed below!
